I would have to say either a rabbit or some rats. I have a rabbit and two rats, most adorable things ever! I'd say get a rat since you have a rabbit because they don't bite like hamsters do and believe me they are really sweet creatures. Also, if your allergic to cats and dogs, you maybe allergic to rats beware of that because I'm allergic to my rats, but I try to hold them as often as I can and stuff, its just when I hold them my hands get EXTREMELY itchy!
Rats unlike a lot of small animals you can train to do tricks such as potty train, stand, come here, ect. they also love to be with people.

Hamster. Because gerbils are impossible to hold and they can run away by just one small mistake. Hamsters are more cuter, can be held easily. Gerbils bite more. and like guinea pigs are hard to mantain because of their size. If you want a lot of really small pets, you should get a mouse. But if i were you, i'd get a hamster. Trust me. I know from experience.

Gerbils!! gerbils are the best small pet, seriously!!
these 2 sites will explain them better than i do, and help you with info. on them if you would like:http://www.abcgerbils.com/whygerbils.htm…http://www.twinsqueaks.com/index.html
hamsters aren't as good as you think, bcuz they are nocturnal, making it very hard to play with them, they are solitary, bite more than gerbils, and roll-about-balls?? you ban use those with gerbils too!!

I personally love ferrets. They are lovable, funny, smart, and they sleep 18 hours of the day. I trained mine to do all kinds of stuff like go only in her litter box, sit, stay rollover, fetch, swim, and walk on a leash outside. She would sit in my hood and i went to the mall or pet store and she would pop out and scare people.
Try a ferret, as long as your rabbit doesnt wander the house a ferret would be good. Males are lazier and good for petting females are smarter and spunkier.
good luck and let me know if you have questions.

Hamsters would be a great choice. I have one and he is a very good pet. you only have to clean their cage about once every week. They are good about storing food, but always make sure they have food. They simply take most of it, hide it, and eat it only when they are hungry. They don't overeat if you give them more food. They are loving little animals, who normally do NOT bite people unless you wake them constently, put them in a uncomfortable place, or wake and play during a non-usual hour(2am???). They do not cost much. The only thing that costs a little more is the cage and supplies because you have to use them up. You don't really have to take hamsters to the vet unless you think they are sick, or if something is out of the ordinary. If you decide to pick a hamster, be sure to look out for the following when making your selection: bare patches of fur, solitare behaviors, not drinking/eating, or too much sleeping.
IMPORTANT: If you see that the hamster's tail and/or buttox is wetter than usual, please take him to the vet and get him medicine for wet tail. ALSO if you notice gucky yellow goop in your hamster's eyes, nose, ears, or mouth, take him to the vet also. 2 people I know have had this happen to their hamster, and they thought it was "sleepies" (aka- eye boogers, gucky, squish, etc.) but it is a serious desies that causes hamsters to die a few days after.
Hope this helps!

We have seven drawf hamsters (pet store sold us one pregnant). They are great little pets. I feed them cheerios as treats. They love me. :o)
Wanted to comment on the nocturnal thing. It's true they are up a lot during the night (wheel squeaking all night). But mine sleep during the work hours/school hours. By the time I get home, they're ready for attention. They hear me come in the room, and they stand on their hind legs until I pick them up.
