A gerbil Is a bit smaller than a hamster, and has a tail. Gerbils are awake during the day. They look more like mice because of there tail. They live for 2-5 years.
There are 2 forms of hamsters, syrian and dwarf. All hamsters are nocturnal, so they mainly sleep during the day.The syrians hamsters are larger, going up to 7 inches. They are loner animals, and can not be kept with other hamsters.Dwarf hamsters only grow to about 4 inches. They usually get along with other hamsters of the same species, but may fight. Hmaters live for about 3 years.
A guinea pig is larger than any of them, and are best kept in pairs. I kept a single guinea pig though, named Fur-Ball, and he was fine and he lived for 5-6 years. I held him, and I loved him a lot.
I would say a Hamster or Guinea pig is my fav.
Depending on how much you want to spend, will determine how much money you will spend. The larger the cage the better, but guinea pigs will of course need a larger space than a hamster.
Fur-Ball never bit me, as I can remember. I had a hamster before, and she rarely ever bit me. Some people say dwarf hamsters are meaner, but as long as they are tamed and they know you, they rarely will bite. As long as the pet knows you, neither pet should bite often.
For the nicest is the same, they can all be nice, depending how you treat him/her and how much time they spend with you.
If you want an active pet, you could get a robo hamster. A robo is a type of dwarf hamster, they are very active pets. Hamsters are very active at night and late afternoon.
All in all, I would recommend getting a syrian or dwarf hamster, but that’s your opinion. As long as you have the right supplies to care for your pet, all of these small animals can become a true friend to you. Good Luck!
Well good luck. I have some things on each. . .

Right now, i have 2 teddy bear hamsters. they aren’t supposed to be 2gether, but they r from the same litter and r really nice to each other but i have a seperation plan if they fight. Anyhow, here r my answers:
hamster, deffinetly. no experience w/ gerbils, but giunea pigs, yah i’ve had experience & hamsters r wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyy better.
on all of the stuff for each pet, u’ll probably spend $60-$90. guinea pig: $20-$30, hamster, $10-$18, gerbil, same as hamster
Teddy bear hamsters bite the least. mine bit me once, but they really do rarely bite. dwarf hamsters usually bite if u get them from a pet store.
Teddy bear hamsters r the nicest.
Hamsters r nocturnal. gin. pigs & gerbils r not. Hamsters r really active at night and cute, but they will get sick if woken up in the daytime to much, and will bite if handled roughly or abruptly woken up.
I would also suggest 2 rats. they r sweet, smart, social and clean. they have no odar whatsoever, and rarely bite. u must get 2 of the same gender & must know each other from the start. Hamsters gerbils and rats live about 3 years, and guinea pigs live about 8 years. They all make great pets, but i prefer rats and hamsters. u must also get guinea pigs and gerbils in pairs, as well as rats. they like to be in pairs. so yah, hamsters or rats r the best!!!!!!!!! clean each cage every week, give filtered water every day, feed every day. Make sure they have a very big cage or they will not be happy. go online to learn more information, and make sure u educate urself before getting any pet. good luck!
Hamsters are the best because they are playful and love humans. Hamsters at the pet store cost about 7 dollars for a dwarf and 9 for a teddy bear hamster at petsmart they cost 10 to 15 for both kinds. Guinea pigs cost about 15 dollars at pet stores and liek 30 at petsmart and etc. Gerbils are not as big as a guinea pig and is smaller than a hamster. they cost liek 20 dollars any where. hamsters will bite if they are not used to you but usualy dont bite. same with the others. hamsters are the nicest since they thrive on human attention. guinea pigs and gerbils are nice when they feel like it. hamsters are the most active and guinea pigs are somewhat active to. i do not know about gerbils. hamsters are very clean animals. infact they are the second cleanest rodent behind the ferret. if you get a hamster get the crittertrail two or three at petsmart.com. for now they are on sale. hope you enjoy you new pet!! please get a hamster they rock!!!!!!!!!!
gerbils are a mix of like a hamster and rat. they have a tail and are very fast and sneaky. hamsters are sweet and have no tail! BUT, get a guinea pig! i have two and they are like no other rodent. they don’t bite, squeal, run fast and they are just easy. Guinea pigs are pack animals and love to have a companion guinea pig.
i think hamster

hamsters are 10 guniea pig 25 and 15 for a gerbil

Gerbils have tails and a little bit smaller.
Ive never had a gerbil, but i have a hamster and he’s really sweet.
