I’m looking for a dwarf hamster and I would like to know how much it costs to buy one and everything that they need to survive. I only have 60 dollars.

I really want a hamster, but I’m not sure if I can afford it. I heard it costs about $80 startup including cage, etc. and then about $20 per month? Also what kind of cage/wheel/ball should I get for a black bear syrian?

I have a 2.5 year old chinese dwarf hamster. In the past few months she has what appears to be a blood blister. It appeared on one of her little toes, but has now spread and basically overtaken her whole leg, up to the thigh. I know she has to be in pain and it looks like it would just burst at any second. I doubt she can be saved, and I don’t want to let her suffer, so I was wondering if vets did put them to sleep, and if so, is it cheap since theyre so small anyway??

Different vets charge different prices for visits, so the actual cost of the visit can vary quite widely. You should call and ask a few vets in your area what they charge for exotic appointments. Some places charge less for small animals, and others charge more. I’ve paid 30 bucks for a visit and I’ve paid 50. It just depends.
I’m not sure what meds they’ll give your gerbil since he’s so young, but they usually aren’t too much money, 20 to 30 bucks or so.
Best bet is to call them and ask. :) Good luck with your gerbil!

How Much Food Should I Feed My Syrian Hamster?

I got my first hamster for my birthday in November 2007 and I have been scooping her bowl in the food so it is full but I am now thinking this is too much as she looks a bit podgy.
No mean comments please.
Thank You.

I wanted to get a hamster since I was little. I just wanted to know how much the maintenance will be, and the hamster its self. THANX!!

It goes something like that!

How Much Does It Cost To Bring A Hamster On A Airplane?

I’m flying from Kansas to Arizona on Southwest airlines and i want to bring my hamster, but i want to figure out how much it would cost. Please help me i don’t have much time left!

anything from a fish tank that cost $10 to a fancy cage with tunnels and such which cost $60+
IMO, the hardest parts for cleaning are the tunnels. I hate assembling and connecting the tubes. It’s all so fricking hard. Wish the manufacturers will come out with better designs.

It depends on the brands you get. Most likely, with everything, it’ll range around $60-$100. The stuff is cheap, not including the hamster. But hamsters cost around 10 to 20 bucks.
