do i have to change the water everyday?

I bought a hamster yesturday and was just wondering how often I need to change his pine bedding and if you have any other tips on caring for a hamster they would be much appreciated . Thanks.

My hamster just gave birth to 7 pups yesterday. I would like to ask for your opinion, what is the right time for me to change the water or add food into the cage? It should be early in the morning or evening? How to do that without the mother feel curious? Should I give extra food to the mother? Hope some of you out there can help me. This is my first experience. Thank you.

My gerbil had babies two weeks ago, and right now the mother father and babies are all in one small cage. I bought another bigger cage w/attachments, like a habittrail kind of thing, and want to move them all to a bigger space. How long before I can do that? I don’t want to disrupt them.

I keep finding mice/baby rats in my hamsters cage, any idea what I can put outside the cage to deter them (and not kill the hamster)! The cage is in the garage and I cannot move it, and I don’t want to suffocate my poor hamster with blankets!!!
