How many years does a gerbil and hamster live up to? Like how much would I need to spend on a gerbil and hamster, eg. food, habitat, etc.? Of the two, which cost more?

Gerbils live about 3-4 years.
Gerbils cost around $10 in a pet store. Its usually cheaper to get them from a breeder, and its a better idea, since pet store gerbils are usually unfriendly compared to gerbils from breeders, which are really sweet. If you do get gerbils, you will need to get 2, as they are very social and can get depressed if they are a lone.
It would probably cost you around $70 dollars for every thing they would need – a 10 gallon aquarium, a lid, a wheel, a hidout, a chew toy, a water bottle, a food bowl, litter and food. ( all of which is what they would need to live happy lives )
Hope you decide on gerbils, they are really sweet, and much more fun than hamsters (IMO)

Good luck
cost depends on where you buy the hamster or gerbil at. i like guinea pigs myself. w/ the right care they could live to be over 10 years old. i never had much luck w/ hamsters.
Hamsters live around 3 years on average, i’m not sure about a gerbil, but hamsters cost around $8 so i think i would cost around $20 total, for all the simple things, if you want your hamster to have all the “cool” stuff it will cost more.

Read up. I wouldn’t imagine a gerbil/hamster costing more than 20 dollars, most likely less than 10 dollars, even.
♥I have never seen a gerbil at a pet store before.
Hamster♥$10
Cage♥$20-30
Food and Treats♥$10
I would recommend a gerbil they have more white meat.
they can like live up to 10 years… Like about 10 week.. they cost like the same thing… like they need wood chips for the cage… and like friut o’s.. and seed feed… Hampsters are cool.. call your local pet store and ask them how much they cost…
Honestly, neither costs more than the other. It all depends on your care on how long they’ll live. Pick whichever you like more and good luck!
