how do i KNOW that my gerbil is happy and healthy? and do gerbils sleep ALOT?cause mine does.

I have had 15 gerbils and yeah they do sleep a lot. When they are happy they sometimes wag their tails. They purr when you handle them.

If its happy it won’t bite. Sleeping is normal because they sleep in the morning and wake up around nite.
sounds like you have a healthy pet …just get some toys for your pet so it can do exercise and be active. Maybe that will help. best wishes
Take him to your vet’s office with any questions you have. They can help you more than anyone.
