How Can I Play With My Hamster Without Holding Or Stroking Her?

I want my hamster to get to know me but i dont want to stroke her or hold her. Please help! How can i?

any way, make her safe obstacle courses outside the cage so she can get exercise and make her run after a treat in your hand or something. give her treats.
um, you could train her, like teach her to do tricks, i did this with my rats; they can spin, beg and come when i call them. don’tnt kno if this will work as well with hamsters though. get her a box and fill it with toys and then just watch her and move the toys about a bit. you said yodon’tnt want to stroke her or hold her, well then you could put your hand in the cage and just let her explore you, or have her on your lap.

i have a hamster and the only way to let it get to know you is to hold it, so most likely it wont get use to you. Also yes you can play with it but they sleep during the day so she could get mad if you just poke it or anything like that but it will be just fine if you pick it up and pet her, just don’t be afraid of her please..
The best way for hamsters to get used to you is by holding and stroking them. If at first you do not feel comfortable doing this, try sitting next to her cage and the her smell your scent. Also giving her nibbles through the bars will help her get to know you. If you are scared of her, try not to let it show. Just relax and she will be relaxed as well. If you show you are scared they tend to put up a guard between you and them and never want to be near you.
Also a tip for sleeping at night, keep her up as much as possible during the day and she should get into a routine of playing whilst you are still awake… This may also help form a bond between your hamster and yourself.

You can buy your hamster a ball to excercise in. Not only is the fun for your hamster & great excercise, but if you spend time with her whilst she’s in her ball she’ll get used to your smell.
Also can I ask why you don’t want to handle her?
Hamster’s don’t desperately need human attention, but it’s a lot better for them.
If you’re worried about your hamster biting you, then just let her get used to your smell first: Open up the cage and let her sniff you. If she doesn’t bite you, feed her a treat (yoghurt drops/choc drops for rodents) and she’ll learn.

try just hand feeding it a treat, or letting it smell you, why dont you want to stroke or hold it, this is how to let your hamster get to know you day by day.
day 1- leave the hammy alone
day 2- talk to it as much as possible, wake it up and talk to it
day 3- wake it up, talk to it and let it smell youa treat
day 4- wake it up and hand feed it
day 5- wake it up and stroke it after hand feeding it when its awake
day 6- try to hold it

Put her cage into a room where there are no wires, gaps or anywhere she can disappear to. We use our hallway for this and shut all the doors. Let her climb out of the cage, you sit on the floor and let her explore and sniff you and climb onto your lap if she wants.
Put some cardboard tubes and boxes together and hide some treats in them.
A ball to run around in, a wheel in its cage, and lots of tunnels to play around attached to its cage, you can sit and watch while hammie enjoys itself
