How Can I Help My Little Sister Raise Her Gerbil?

My little sister has a black gerbil that keeps going to the restroom on people (even her), how can that gerbil ( its a girl) get calm and friendly llike my black bear hamster! it would be really nice if any of you can help us out,

All you can do is handle it as much as possible. It might be going to the bathroom due to nerves or fear. Once it gets used to being handled gently, it might calm down.
However, gerbils are really nothing like hamsters. They aren’t actually the best pets. They aren’t friendly or cuddly; also, they aren’t smart enough to really get tamed if you don’t handle them daily. However, I have known of exceptions.
Just handle it regularly but be prepared to be peed on.
It really depends on personality.
I disagree with you caitlin. i have four gerbils that are very friendly. You shouldn’t pick them up at first. you should put your hand in their cage and let them smell you and get used to you. or you could set a certain area for them to go to the bathroom. two of my gerbils like dirt, the other two like chinchilla bathing dust. And animals that are stressed may do this. it’s best to have more than on gerbil because she will get very lonely and aggressive (this has happened to my friends gerbil). get a younger one if possible because you don’t want her to be territorial. another piece of advice is to put a treat on your hand and let them eat it there. play with them as much as possible. This also might be because the cage is dirty. Some gerbils wont go to the bathroom in their cages if they are too dirty.
