Gerbil Owners, How Much Of Your Language Do Your Gerbils Understand?

My gerbils seem to understand their names, and the words ‘food’, ‘no’ and ‘hello’. One of my gerbils, Loki, will often wink at me if I say hello to him!

You should try winking back at your gerbil as this is a way that they talk to each other in the wild i spend an hour once having a wink fight with my gerbil and he was the one to give up in the end so i gave him some food and now he plays it all the time one sunflower seed if he loses two if he wins
my gerbil understands everything i say no stop somtimes jump,
My gerbil doesn’t know his name. i think it has to do with the tone or something
