Can You Get Your Hamster To Fall Asleep?

Our 7-8 month old hamster falls asleep in my son’s hands, on his lap and even in his pant pockets. He is not sick. Does anyone else have (or had) a hamster who did this? I just think it’s too cute and I’ve never seen anything like it.

I have seen it once in my cousins hammie. It is just super content!
One of our male Syrian hamsters, Jet, will fall asleep on my lap while I’m on the computer. Just remember that hamsters can sleep up to 18 hours a day.
mine sleeps a lot more than usual hamsters as i have 2.Mine is also very energetic but it is very fat

An average life span for a hamster is 1-2 years. Most of them die at 1 year. Are you sure your hamster is not sick? Sleeping like that is abnormal for a hamster. The only time my hamster slept in my hand was when he was about to die.
Don’t get me wrong that your hamster is going to die. This is just what happens with all the hamsters I’ve had.
