Can I Put A Plug In Air Freshner Near A Hamster Cage To Combat Its Smell Or Is This Harmful?

i know that some rodents spray when they are trying to mark out thier territory, to help reduce smell with my ratties i leave a little bit of dirty litter in after i have cleaned thier cage (so it smells like them still and they don’t feel the need to reclaim the area) and I also sprinklw a little bi carb soda under the flooring (i use cat litter) it helps to obsorb the smell and isn’t harmful if they have a taste.

Well, no, because it is harmful. You must not be cleaning the cage regularly.. which is about every 7-12 days.. maybe its the bedding your using.. i suggest carefresh.. those other beddings let the pee soak in and it starts to smell.. lol.. and at the store.. theres a certain air freshner made for hamsters for cleaning their cages and just to spray around the cage.. theres many different brands.. they’re about $5-15.. hope it smells good.. hopei helped.. bye.. -sophia
they are harmful to people so yes – they will certainly be harmful to your little friend…
try cleaning the cage more often – using odor removing cage cleaner products…
cedar shavings are especially dangerous to small pets too.
it is very harmful so do not put it anywhere near the hammy
I don’t suggest it. If you clean the cage regularly, the smell should be kept down to a minimum. There shouldn’t be a need to put an air freshener in if you clean the cage.
CLEAN THE CAGE REGULARLY – then it will not smell. and u are supposed to do that as a responsible pet owner.

No you cant put an airfreshner of anytype near a hamster or its cage. You cant put them near a tv or speakers either. These are all harmful to your hamster. Do not feed them avacado either.
Ummmm… no I’m sorry about that. It could be very harmful to your rodent. But, at the pet store, they have pet safe cleaning supplies which could be useful.
