Laundry baskets, not the normal clothes bins. The laundry baskets has holes in the sides, and im not sure if thats good or bad. Usually how people make homemade cages is to use clothes bins and cut out the sides and top and put on metal mesh, but laundry baskets already has the holes in them(they’re pretty similar to metal mesh but with the holes bigger and made of plastic…O_o), so I guess thats a good thing…? Also, the laundry basket doesnt have any lid, so im think of just putting a length cardboard or wood to cover the top when im not playing with my hamster. Is that unsafe cause the hamster might climb up and ecape… help!!

I know a lot of places say once a week but to me that does not seem to be enough. Should I do it every day, every other day, every three days, ect. ?

Here’s the facts.
-Male.
-5 months.
-Good weight, good health.
-Had him for a week.
-Has a sand bath, doesn’t seem to know what to do with it.
-Squeaks if I hold him or if he’s in his gerbilairum.
-Please don’t tell me the basics- I work in a pet shop and know the basics, just don’t have much hand on with them.
-Please don’t tell me to add another gerbil- I know how to, but I’m not interested, really.

My hamster always runs behind furniture and begins to bite and scratch at the carpet in the corners. I can’t get to him without moving the whole piece of furniture so it’s a huge pain. He causes a lot of damage before I can get to him. Is there anything I can put in the corner that might repel him. I really don’t want to take away his free run time. I am a big advocate of letting hamsters have a supervised exploring time in a closed room. Hamsters are highly curious and can become bored easily with cage life. I just need somthing to keep him out of the corners without harming him. Is there any type of natural spray I could use? Thanks

I am getting a Syrian Hamster and was wondering if the Crittertrail One was a good cage. I want a syrian hamster because they are for beginners, and the Crittertrail One is a cheap cage where you don’t have to build it because I’m not tool handy to make a bin cage. I want a cage that can be bought at petco or petsmart. Thanks

I bought my hamster about a year ago and it passed away yesterday. Yes, I was upset but I wanted to know why it died just like that. When it died, I think the tail of the hamster was a little brownish and wet. Was that the cause ? The fur of my hamster is a mixture of white and very light brown. I think the species of my hamster is called ‘Pudding’.
