Gerbil Owners, How Much Of Your Language Do Your Gerbils Understand?
My gerbils seem to understand their names, and the words ‘food’, ‘no’ and ‘hello’. One of my gerbils, Loki, will often wink at me if I say hello to him!
What about you?

fluff is supposed to be very bad -may i use kitty litter- do i need to put something else on top- the hamster was an unexpected gift so i am trying to catch up quickly before i do harm -thank-you
Right now, my hamster has a cage which is big, but I think she would like a little more room to run around in, and I’m in need of a weekend project! I’m only 13, but my dad can cut plywood and stuff. I only have a budget of about $20, so it needs to be something that’s not that expensive. It needs to be cleanable, rather large (I’m thinking a 3 foot by 3 foot cage) and something that won’t fall apart. We don’t have any wire, but if you know of somewhere I could get ahold of some wire for my cage for cheap, that would be great. It also needs to be somewhat sturdy, so it can hold a wheel and possibly a food/water accessory. And make sure the instructions are easy to follow, I’m not the brightest egg in the dozen. Thanks!
Now I know gerbils sleep off and on but they seem to waking up around ten and staying up for a few hours. i am in high school and start going to bed around 11. they are constantly thudding on that “silent” wheel they have. would my best bet be putting them in the laundry room overnight? or is there a better answer? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated =]
The tutorials are just so hard for me to understand.
I need SIMPLE instructions. My hamster is a female syrian.
I have the Silent Spinner wheel, lots of houses to choose from, food bowl, water bottle, you name it. I just need to make a bin cage. I made one before and it worked but I want to make a cooler one.
I have some clay that you bake in the oven so it becomes solid. My mom says its like some thing that’s pronounced FEE-Mo clay… Would this be ok to make a little hut or house for my gerbil with?
I had a pet rabbit many years back. Now I want a small pet again. But I am not going for a rabbit because my earlier rabbit used to chew electrical wires and other stuff. So I want to know more about guinea pig, hamster or any other small creature that you can keep as a pet.
I want to get a pet. Either a Gerbil, Hamster or Guinea Pig.
Which one do you think is the best?
How much are they all?
Which ones bite the most and least?
Which are nicest?
Which are most active?
And whatever elso you would like to include. Thanks ao much!!
My hamster has just started chewing the bars on its cage. I have looked it up and all it says is shes bored but that’s imposable because she has a cage big enough for two hamsters, a wheel, 2 chew toys, a mineral bloke and every night i take her out and put her in a exercise wheel. I also move the stuff in the cage around once a week! Anyone got any other ideas on how to stop her?
She’s cold and shivering and hardly moving and I don’t think she’s eaten for a while. What can I do?
