I bought a little hamster yesterday, but I’ve never had one before so I don’t know how much stuff to stick in his cage. At the pet store, they were completely burying themselves in the bedding. Should there be enough to allow him to do this?

I have no idea how he managed, but my hamster somehow escaped his cage. The sides are slippery and there’s nothing for him to climb on top of, but he did it. Later in the day, I discovered him in the kitchen stuck to a glue trap (set for cockroaches really). My mother managed to unstick him carefully.
However, now his fur is in terrible condition and some of the stickyness has remained. Does anyone know how to clean him safely? What material or liquid can I use to clean his fur and prevent causing him any pain or discomfort? Please help.

Hamster Cheeks is a rhythmic story of a little hamster that liked to stuff his cheeks with everything but hamster food. Follow along as this sweet little creature has a craving for all things yummy and not so yummy until… he has to sneeze. Hamster cheeks learns a very valuable lesson. Whimsically written and brilliantly illustrated, children young and old will fall in love with Hamster Cheeks.

I have two baby rats coming, is it okay for them to live in a hamster cage while they are babies or do I go right to the huge one? I have both and I just want to make sure.

She has a friend who sits on the floor and plays with her hamster. I’m afraid that if my daughter does this, the hamster will get away. I guess I’m really asking, “How hard is it to catch a runaway hamster? Are they fast?”
I know this question sounds funny, and I am lauging a little as I ask it, but I’d really like to know if people are able to play with their hamsters outside of the cage. Thanks!

I was wondering if i could mark a gerbil with a colored marker or something like that to tell me what gender the gerbil is? Would it be bad for the gerbils health. please comment.

I am planning to make a bin cage to my male hamster. The most common ventilation system is the opening on the lid with a screen. I want to have a new kind of system to enhance the circulation of the air inside.
